It is a parliamentary representative democratic constitutional monarchy province. The disposal constitutionally consists of the Queen and the Cabinet Ministers. By the early eighties the Dutch public assistance province had become the most extended societal security system In the universe but the public assistance province came into crisis when disbursement rose due to dramatic high unemployment rates and hapless economic growing. The centre-right and centre-left alliances wanted the Dutch public assistance province to make new occupations and to convey the budget shortage under control. So that they reduced societal benefits, lowered the revenue enhancements and deregulated the concerns. With these solutions the economic system was recovered and the budget shortage and unemployment were reduced well. The Netherlands has a sum of 11 Parties and the major political parties are CDA ( Christian Democratic Appeal ) , PvdA ( Labour Party ) , SP ( Socialist Party ) , and VVD ( People ââ¬Ës Party for Freedom and Democracy ) . The Dutch Parliament consists of a Second Chamber and a First Chamber. Both Chamberss of parliament discuss proposed statute law and reappraisal of the actions of the cabinet. The CDA has the most seats in the Chambers.Membership of international organisations:The Netherlands is an active and responsible participant in the United Nations system every bit good as other many-sided organisations such as the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development ( OECD ) , World Trade Organization ( WTO ) , and International Monetary Fund.Trade Policy:In 2007 the exports of the Netherlands were $ 457.2 billion. The chief export trade goods are machinery and equipment, fuels, chemicals and groceries. The Netherlands is a strong advocate of free trade and is a member of international forums like WTO and OECD. The portion of foreign trade in its GDP is more than 125 % . The Netherlands ââ¬Ë top three export spouses are Germany, Belgium and France.Demographical facetsWith 16.5 Million dwellers The Netherlands have a high population denseness of about 400 people per square kilometers. The birth rate exceeds the decease rate with 10.9/1000 people against 8.68 death/1000 population and a really high net in-migration rate with 2.72 migrants/1000 people besides contributes to this. Therefore the Dutch population increased by 50 % since the 1960 ââ¬Ës. Recently the population roar is easy worsening. The population is largely divided in middle-sized metropoliss.Economic facets between the different statesEconomic facets of the NetherlandsThe Netherlands has a comfortable and unfastened economic system, which depends to a great extent on foreign trade. Its economic system is besides noted for stabl e industrial dealingss, reasonably low unemployment and rising prices and a ample current history excess. From 2004 boulder clay 2006 the GDP went from about $ 610 billion up to $ 670 billion. The GDP per capita in the Netherlands is the highest of the tree reference states. The state has been one of the taking European states for pulling foreign direct investing and is one of the four largest investors in the US. The gait of occupation growing reached 10-year highs in 2007, but economic growing fell aggressively in 2008 as radioactive dust from the universe fiscal crisis constricted demand and raised the ghost of a recession in 2009.Main industries:Natural gas ; Dutch industry is diversified and includes a assortment of concerns that range from fabrication, excavation, and energy production to building and chemical fabrication.Economic facets of ItalyItaly has developed into an industrial state ranked by both the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund as the universe ââ¬Ës 7th largest economic system in USD exchange-rate footings and ten percent largest in footings of buying power para ( PPP ) by World Bank, IMF and the CIA World Factbook. More late, Italy has faced sulky economic growing and decreased international fight. Italy ââ¬Ës econ omic strength is in the processing and the fabrication of goods, chiefly in little and moderate-sized family-owned houses. The state has been less successful in footings of developing universe category transnational corporations.Economic facets of IndiaIndia has had a market based system from 1991 boulder clay now. Before that the authorities blocked a batch of the import/ export merchandises to protect the people. India achieved 9.6 % GDP growing in 2006, 9.0 % in 2007, and 6.6 % in 2008 this likely due to the planetary economic crisis seting the state on place 28 in the universe. The GDP ( buying power para ) did nevertheless turn from $ 2.816 trillion in 2006 to $ 3.069 trillion in 2007 to $ 3.297 trillion in 2008 puting India on place 5 harmonizing to the cia universe factbook. Most of this ( 53.4 % 2008 ) comes from the services sector in India.DecisionWhich state will hold the best market to export goods and merchandises to? India is a really interesting state to merchandise with. The economic system is on a strong growing flight and anticipations are that it keeps turning. All India has to make is maintain their market unfastened and maintain on working on bettering their substructure and educational system, this would besides better their GDP per capita. India has besides hardly been affected by the economic crisis of 2008/2009 Italy on the other manus has had a existent job since the beginning of the crisis, in the EU Italy has taken one of the hardest hits on GDP ( PPP ) and GDP Growth rate, nevertheless, even before the start of the crisis the Italian economic system had already been & amp ; lsquo ; sulky ââ¬Ë . In the terminal, it all depends on what goods and merchandises you are be aftering to export. Italy has few natural resources because Italy has specialized on industry and edifice luxury goods and for all this you need stuffs so exporting natural resources would be best here. In India we would export capital/consumer goods, if the economic system keeps turning as predicted than that combined with the fact that the liberalisation of import revenue enhancements continues besides adding a population of over 1 billion people. Brands it one of the biggest possible markets in the universe at this clip. Reasoning that both of the states have their advantages, the EU in Italy and the market potency of India, we prefer India to merchandise with.Beginnings:www.cia.govwww.demographic-research.orgwww.economist.comwww.geohive.comwww.oecd.orgwww.oup.comwww.wikipedia.orgwww.de.statista.comwww.economicshelp.orgwww.wiki.answers.com

Communication: Meaning of Life and Words Essay
The words we use and the order in we use them give particular meaning to our communication. There are certain occasions when the meaning is clear even though the words used are technically wrong. But you cannot be certain that everyone with whom you communicate with will understand what you are saying or the person who is sending you a message. Prejudice is an unreasonable dislike or preference for a person or group based on their religion, race sex etc. While perception is how you notice things especially with your senses. Since we use most of our senses to communicate, most people will use the most dominant senses they have to pass a message and the outlook will determine how we judge them, for example a person may be a visually dominant person and you may maybe a touch oriented person so the way he may pass on a message to you will not come out clearly or it may bring out a different meaning as to what it was originally intended to. Incorrect expression will mean that the ideas that are to be conveyed will not be clear and you may lose interest in the message or communication and thus you will come out with a different perspective of the person conveying this message or the message itself. As humans we tend to have this weakness of stereotyping people once we look at them. We tend to judge people from their outside appearance rather than from what they say or do but once a person has written or spoken something we come out with a different view of them according to Pearson, nelson, titsworth and harter (2003) our expectations and our expressions of the behavior of others are guided by how we perceive them and its through their communications is how we will look at it. How words dictate pride and prejudice Here is where we will discuss how use of words will affect how we perceive people and how prejudice will come in. Adopting the proper use of words are both crucial to both personal and business life. Unless friends and acquaintances know what they mean, relationships will become strained. Unless employees interpret what is communicated to them well, work production will go down. so the proper use of words will dictate how we interpret things and use them in our day to day activities. Words can be seen as formal and distance lacking the personal touch which is so often positive, a feature in other forms of communications. It takes a highly skilled communicator to interpret the message to its intended form. People tend to use complicated words which they may try to impress the person receiving the message â⬠¦. ââ¬Å"Never use complicated words or phrases for simple thingsâ⬠(sillars 1988) as it will bring a huge meaning from what it was originally meant to and it will make the message receiver look at it from a different perspective. Using inaccurate words and in a misplaced order will affect how a message is supposed to be passed along. Words tend to lose their effects through constant use, its far better to be specific and clear than to risk irritating and confusing to the receiver of the messageâ⬠¦ ââ¬Å"communicators who fail to realize that persons from different cultures may not look think or act as themselves do run the risks of having those whom they interact with judge them to be insensitive ignorant or culturally confusedâ⬠(gamble 2002) like a word which may mean happiness to you may mean totally different in another different community or country. Since perception is through our senses and our senses vary, we interpret words and messages differently. Not everyone perceives things the way we do, we form stereotypes of people, things and situations so the way a message is passed along and the words used in the message dictates how we will perceive the message and interpret it. Each individual perception of a message is influenced by his or her attitude thus out of the massive information available to us we will pick out the messages that has words that conform to our own beliefs, expectations or convictions and we tend to reject the information that has words which contradicts them. Our selective processes allow us to add delete or change stimuli so that we can avoid dealing with certain information. Wrong use of words can also lead to a process called selective perception which is the tendency to see hear and believe only what u want. Words can help us form first impression about people thus first impressions can dramatically affect perception about peopleâ⬠¦Ã¢â¬ you will find that people usually attribute positive qualities to persons A, selecting a descriptive word with very positive connotations in contrast, persons B is often perceived as possessing negative qualities and for this reason the word chosen to describe B has also negative connotationsâ⬠(gamble 2002) Perhaps the most difficult thing with words is that they can mean two different things to two different people, and they do not have the opportunity to query it immediately. Benjamin Disraeli, the first English prime minister of Jewish descend and a brilliant novelist used to reply in this words to admires who send him large manuscripts of their own in the hopes of gaining his adviceâ⬠¦. â⬠many thanks, I shall loose no time in reading itâ⬠. The gulf between what he meant and what they thought he meant was, we can guess, considerable. Everyone who works with words should be aware of how they can take on a new, different and disturbing meaning in the minds of others, and should guard against this by checking even the most apparent straightforward expressions before using them. Many new words add vigor and strength to a language and can be very effective when used in the right context. Words need to be used with caution if you do not want to be ambiguous, inaccurate or totally incomprehensible in what you say, even if a new word or a new saying becomes common and is heard in every television or radio broadcast, try not to adopt it immediately and uncritically, pause for a moment and consider whether it helps to clarify the ideas it puts forward, or whether it obscures it otherwise it will bring forward a different perception of the message it intended to pass forwardâ⬠¦Ã¢â¬ it is also important to realize that a word that does not function for you may function differently for another person even if you did not intend it to be given a certain interpretationâ⬠(gamble 2002) Since we assign meaning on the basis of our experience, and since no two people have the same set of experiences, it follows that no two people will have the same meaning for the same word. This aspect should neither be lauded nor cursed; it should simply be remembered. Too frequently we let our words lead us away from where we want to go, we unwittingly antagonize our family, friends and co-workers. We are i nfuriated, For example, when an important deal collapses because our position has not been understood; or we are terrified when the leaders of government miscommunicate and put their counties on a collision cause. In order to avoid or alleviate such problems, we must remember that meaning can change as people who use their words change. You might wear a sports jacket or a sweater or a Pair of jeans to a casual party, but this does not mean that everyone else who is invited to that party would interpret casual in the same way. The meaning people attribute to symbols and words are affected by their background, age, educational level and work. Forgetting this can cause misunderstandings and lead to communication difficulties. ââ¬Å"Words in themselves have no meaning, the meaning resides in the mind of the communicatorsâ⬠(sillars 1988). try to identify how the lives of people with whom you communicate with can cause them to respond to words in ways you would not respond. Different responses are neither right nor wrong they are simply different. Conclusion While points argued attempt to reflect accurate use of words, they should be used with certain limitation and care. Remember that human beings are the same physically but they may differ in mind and reasoning, even the meaning of words may change or alter with time. For example, scholars who edit Shakespeare have to update the punctuation of earlier editions so that the contemporary reader can gain a proper grasp of the meaning and movements of the speeches and the significance to the actions. Be clear, be accurate, and be concise, always choosing the words which make you point in the most direct way, and you will be able to communicate effectively. Superhero, a moral example
What images will come into your mind when you are thinking about Superhero? People usually image superheroes as men that with extraordinary powers. And they are secret identity that would like to protect other people from dangerous but never ask for reward. Superheroes are famous to people since Superman debuted in 1978. Today, millions of dollars has spent on Superhero movie in Hollywood because more and more people become a superhero fan to identify with the heroes, sharing not only their special powers, but also their adventure stories. In the Hollywood movies, a superhero usually is a white man with extraordinary powers and abilities that beyond normal human beings. Superheroes devote themselves to fighting crime or evil without expectation of reward. The superheroes usually consider as the moral code, however, different people hold different attitudes toward superheroes that some people do not agree that superheroes are moral examples. They believe that superheroes are a kind of selfless heroism but they have done so by their self-interest. And superheroes usually break laws in their actions which are against our society. Moreover, a lot of people seem to think that superheroes will use their super power to destroy our world in the future. Thus, superheroes cannot be considered as moral examples. Even though self-interest influences superheroesââ¬â¢ heroism, superheroes are moral examples because their actions are lead to be greater good than evil. People usually doubt about a superhero like superman is a kind of selfless heroism but he has done so by ââ¬Å"acting in his own self-interestâ⬠(Waid, 10). Superman acts this because his natural instincts, so we can argue that superheroes do this because their self-interest make them like to do this.Loeb and Morris point out that, some people think about Superheroes and their actives that ââ¬Å"they do it because they like to do itâ⬠(13). However, Waid point out that ââ¬Å"in helping others, Supe rman helps himself. In helping himself, he helps othersâ⬠(10). When helping other people, superheroes are helping themselves. They are using their power to help people and not doing evil thing, as long as they are doing good, their actions are lead to be greater good and nothing evil. The symbol of Superman gives American people a lot of hope. For example, during the Great Depression, America, the most powerful country in the world, was not as strong as before. Therefore, the Americans imaged that the Superman could come and lead them toward a new world. They respected Superman because they believed that Superman could help them regain the confidence and give them good expects for the future life. The symbol of Superman made them feel hopeful in such despair. In addition, during the Vietnam War, many young people such as ââ¬Å"hippieâ⬠in the United States rebelled the society by having long hair, using drugs, embracing sexual revolution and so on ( Hippie). This was total ly against the value of the Americans. At that time, people are looking for a man to save these young people, but who could come and save them? The answer is Superman, the alien from other planet with extraordinary power. In the movie, Superman, Clark Kent, is a reporter working for the Daily Planet. However, he is completely different from the American young people at that time. He doesnââ¬â¢t smoke, lie, or cheat. And he is very different from Hippie. Superman has a kind heart; he is helping others who are in need. As a result, Superman sets a moral example for the American young people during the Vietnam War.And Americans believe the image of Superman is the good example for the young Americans, and Superman will stop young people from doing evil things and lead them to a healthy and positive life. Therefore Superheroes are famous to all Americans. It was obvious that Superheroes are such a kind of people that have super powers and abilities that different from normal people. And they are the person helping those people who cannot help themselves from evil, and make the evil end with greater good. Many people insist that superheroes such as batman are not the moral example.Batman breaks some of the laws when he is fighting against criminals which are against our society. It may be true that Batman is a law breaker, but it doesn't mean that Superheroes like batman are not moral examples for us. For example, Batmanââ¬â¢s emotions forced him into his role. He felt that it was his duty to avenge his parents by fighting against every evil thing that he meets. He considers Gotham City, which he lives in, as a city with criminals around every corner. Batman takes great pleasure in cleaning up all evil criminal around the whole city.He never worried about whether it is against the law. Because Batman knows that when he breaks some of the laws, he is going to capture the real criminals who are acting against more important laws, and to protect the law-abiding citizens of the city from these real criminals. For Batman, ââ¬Å"laws may be unjust, politicians may be corrupt, and the legal system may actually protect the wickedâ⬠(Skoble 32). But none of these will stop him from becoming crime-fighting vigilantes. He insists that ââ¬Å"Evil must be punishedâ⬠(Skoble 37). Therefore he will keep on cleaning up the evil in his city.It is natural to believe that Batman is a ââ¬Å"dangerousâ⬠and ââ¬Å"fascist reactionaryâ⬠(Skoble 31), but we shouldn't ignore that he has always been ââ¬Å"cautiousâ⬠and ââ¬Å"measuredâ⬠(Skoble 33) when using his extraordinary powers. Moreover, Batman has consistently using his extraordinary powers when he is fighting against criminals only. Although the nature of Batmanââ¬â¢s violence makes him break some of the laws, there is no evidence to suggest that it is wrong for Batman to fight crime and keep innocent people safe by using his extraordinary powers. In addition, Super heroesââ¬â¢ actions force us to rethink our roles in this world. The terrorism continues in our world, and there are crimes happen all over the world every day. We all need justice and peace, but most of us do not want to take our responsibility to protect our world, we just looking for ways to feel better about ourselves. By contract, Superheroes are fighting a never ending battle for truth, for justice, for peace. They keep playing their roles as everyoneââ¬â¢s protector; they devote their lives to fighting crimes.Sometimes, we may think about the law and morality when we value what superheroes have do for us. We may find out that, superheroes may do something against law and consider not morality. However, superheroes keep playing their roles as everyoneââ¬â¢s protector; they devote their lives to fighting crime that inspired many people to become masked ââ¬Å"crime-fightersâ⬠(Skoble 34). It was obvious that superheroes force us to rethink our views about law and social order, and ask us to use them as a mirror to see ourselves more clearly that lead us to take our responsibility to protect our world.

What is commonly understood by the term organisational citizenship Essay
What is commonly understood by the term organisational citizenship What does research suggest may be some of the reasons why some employees do not engage in organisational citizenship - Essay Example This essay is an attempt to analyse the term and its connotation along with the reasons why some employees deliberately do not exhibit this behaviour. Organisation Citizenship is a form of behaviour exhibited by employees who work in an organisation and identify themselves with that particular organisation. The feeling of organisational citizenship develops among the employees with time as the work in the organisation and it contributes to the effective performance of the employees. In other words the employees develop a sense of belongingness or citizenship with the organisation they work for and would lead to various voluntary activities for the benefit of the organisation which otherwise would not have been undertaken by them. The sense of belonging in turn would also lead to higher expectations of the employees in the sense that they would like to know that the organisation has succeeded because of their hard work and dedication towards the company. Thus in short the voluntary support of the employees and the positive behaviour of employees towards the organisation and its success can be referred to as organisation citizenship behaviour (Lee and Allen, 2002, p. 132). In other words, when the employees deliver beyond the job role that they have been assigned by the organisation and which would contribute to the facilitation of the performance of the organisation, such behaviour is found to be existing (Lambert, 2006, pp. 503-525). Most of the researchers are of the opinion that the deviation of the employees from standard organisation citizenship behaviour cannot be attributed to their personality traits solely. Apart from the personality trait the organisation culture and the environment in which the person is working have an effect on the citizenship behaviour of employees. A number of cases of gender discrimination have been noticed in case of the OCB. Extensive research on

Discuss - Research Paper Example Descartesââ¬â¢ inventions in philosophy and mathematics had considerable influence on the art of the 17th century. Previous accounts of the mind-body relationship had mostly been unidirectional, in that, people believed that either the body controlled the mind or vice versa. With Descartesââ¬â¢ dualism concept, people could now think of the relationship between mind and body as being two-way. Artists began to perceive the objects of their drawings as having a body and a mind that affected each other (94). Descartesââ¬â¢ discovery of the Cartesian coordinate system that enabled people to use geometric shapes in the expression of algebraic equations in 2-dimensions also impacted the world of art. Before Descartesââ¬â¢ discoveries, artists created their work without using geometric shapes and this only made it hard for them to achieve multiple dimensions in their artwork. However, with Descartesââ¬â¢ discovery, they could now use geometrical shapes to create 2-dimensional perspectives in their drawings and other artwork (105). Isaac Newton (1643-1727) is inarguably one of the most celebrated inventors in the history of mankind. He was a mathematician, physicist and astronomer from England. His most notable work lay in science and mechanics especially after his discovery of the laws of motion (Tiner 5). He enlightened people about the relationships between motion and force. He also played an instrumental role in the field of prisms. He is credited with discovering the source of colors (35). His discoveries had a profound effect on the thinking of his time, especially in relation to art. Prior to Newtonââ¬â¢s discovery of the phenomenon of colors, people used to think that a mixture of light and darkness is what produced color. Newton, through his prism experiments, was able to determine and prove that light was the only element responsible for color. Various artists were
